OREANDA-NEWS. February 03, 2009. Based on the results of the first month of 2009, the State Budget debt to Metinvest made UAH 471m. For the twelve months of 2008 Metinvest tax payments totalled UAH 8.5bn. This amount has risen by 70% year-on-year, reported the press-centre of Metinvest.

Tax amount transferred by Metinvest enterprises in December made almost UAH 400m. Following the results of 2008, Metinvest was recognized Ukraine's biggest taxpayer.

Metinvest Group works in full compliance with the current law and is an exemplary taxpayer. A key factor of tax payments increase is financial strategy of the Group that targets to build transparent and understandable partnership relationships, uphold tax obligations fully and on time, and lastly, develop the economy of Ukraine. 

Yet the state debt in terms of VAT repayments to the Company makes UAH 471m today.
