OREANDA-NEWS. February 3, 2009. The need for restructuring comes from the reorganization of Energoatom Concern into an open joint stock company. Structural uniformity is expected to help the Concern to more effectively manage its operating facilities and construction projects.

In order to optimize its organizational structure the Concern has decided to abolish the position of deputy director for finance of Kursk NPP held by V.Kuranov. The chief accountant of the plant V.Kashuba has been transferred to another branch. 

Presently, the 1st, 2nd and 3rd units of Kursk NPP are in operation, the 4th unit has been under maintenance since Oct 1 2008.

The radiation background at the plant and in the nearby area is within norm.
