Belarus’ Industrial Companies’ Unsold Inventories up 55.5% in 2008
OREANDA-NEWS. On 03 February 2009 was announced, that unsold inventories of Belarusian industrial companies increased 55.5% in January-December 2008 to 4.957 trillion Belarusian rubles (Br) as of January 1, 2009, an official with Belarus’ Statistics Ministry told.
Overstocks were at 61.1% of the average monthly production volume as of January 1, 2009, up from 53% on January 1, 2008.
In monetary terms, overstocks dropped by 5.3% in December 2008.
In December, inventories of chemical fibers rose 20.2% on the month to 12,500 tonnes, of tires for farm machines 16.6% to 32,300 units, of refrigerators 64.7% to 59,800 units, of washing machines 5.2% to 42,800 units, and cement 0.5% to 74,200 tonnes.
At the same time, in December, inventories of mineral fertilizers fell 71.6% to 6,300 units, of tractors 9% to 4,000 units, of motorcycles 25% to 1,236 units and of trucks 14% to 2,045 units.
