OREANDA-NEWS. On 03 February 2009 was announced, that JSC BTA Bank had been awarded as the "Best Trade Finance Bank 2009 in Kazakhstan" according to Global Finance, international finance magazine.

BTA was named as the "Best Trade Finance Provider" in an exclusive survey during which magazine’s editors together with analysts, corporate executives and experts selected the best trade finance providers in 68 countries.

Criteria for choosing BTA Bank as the best bank in Kazakhstan included: transaction volume, scope of global coverage, customer service, competitive pricing and innovative technologies.

Global trade is expected to decline in 2009 for the first time since 1982, but trade finance is booming, as exporters and importers seek to manage their risks more carefully, – says Joseph D. Giarraputo, publisher and president of Global Finance. "We have selected the banks that corporations can rely on for financing their global trade activities and providing other trade-related services".

BTA holds a leading position in Trade Finance among the banks of Kazakhstan. As of December 1, 2008 the BTA’s share compiled up to 44% of this market.

It’s important to note that for four years running, starting from 2005, BTA structured and trade finance projects are recognized as the best deals by the leading international magazines as Trade Finance и Global Trade Review. Today, BTA is the only bank in Kazakhstan which structured and trade finance activity has been recognized internationally.

Moreover, actively developing its business in CIS, BTA Bank has been previously awarded for providing trade finance services in these states by international publications. Thus, in 2007 the project on financing of oceanarium in Moscow was named by Global Trade Review magazine as the "Best deal 2007".
