OREANDA-NEWS. February 02, 2009. Hotline, organized to inform about arrears of wages within the Ministry of Labour, received 70 calls from citizens of all the regions of Ukraine.

18 out of them represented the budget sphere – most of all, health protection and educational establishments. People stated complaints concerning untimely payment of salaries (12 addresses, from Kyiv – 6). Other addresses concerned under-financing of educational establishments, non-payment of scholarships and payment of salary not in full amount.

52 addresses were from employees of enterprises on a paying basis. They contained violation of labour legislation, in particular concerning non-payment of wages (43 addresses, from Kyiv – 17), non-payment to laid off workers (7), concerning involuntary vacation without preserving salary (1), on reduction of salary rates (1).

“Our reaction to all cases of violations informed by the people in their calls will be operative. The Ministry of Labour and Social Policy is preparing respective letters to the Ministry of Education and Science of Ukraine, Ministry of Finance, Ministry of Internal Affairs, Ministry of Industrial Policy,” the Minister of Labour and Social Policy of Ukraine Liudmyla Denysova informed. She also emphasized that State Committee of Ukraine for Industrial Security, Labor Protection and Mountain Supervision, in their turn, will check all facts of violation of labour legislaton and, if necessary, the measures are to be taken.
