OREANDA-NEWS. On 02 February 2009 was announced, that Ministry of environment protection of Kazakhstan believes that “Kazgidromet” will considerably increase the preciseness of the weather forecasts due to the realization of 3-year modernization program.

“The elaborated weather-forecast service modernization program for 2009-2011 foresees the higher accuracy of the forecasts up to 90%”, said the minister of environment protection of Kazakhstan Nurlan Iskakov in his speech on Friday in Astana.

The minister emphasized that “weather-forecasts security of the state is one of the most important concepts of our work”.

He said that they are planning the relocation of “Kazgidromet” headquarters to Asrana in the 1st quarter of this year; this will allow monitoring all the regions swiftly and active cooperation with other state bodies.

At the moment “Kazgidromet” headquarters is situated in Almaty, the former capital of the republic.
