OREANDA-NEWS. On 02 February 2009 was announced, that in 2009 Astana will see the increase of the instant payments and social assistance.

Astana city maslikhat deputies at the extraordinary session XXX approved on the project of changes and additions in the Regulations of social assistance rendered to the certain categories of Astana citizens in need.

“This year Maslikhat approved 1,5 billion tenge for social payments, that is 200 million tenge more than last year”, said the head of employment and social programs department Alma Altybaeva when presenting the deputies the project of changes.

The project supposes the increasing of instant payments on holidays to the certain categories of citizens.

In fact, to March 8 the payments to the mothers with many children from 1000 to 3000 tenge, to May 31 the victims of political repressions will get 2000 tenge instead of 1000 tenge.

To the Victory Day the participants and invalids of WWII will get 10000tenge instead of 5000 tenge. And those who are equaled to the participants and invalids of WWII will receive 4000 tenge instead of 3000 tenge.

“Last year we had 590 participants and invalids, and this year we have only 531 people”, said A.Altybaeva.

Besides, since the Day of the capital was admitted to be the state holiday, the low-income families will be rendered social assistance as food sets and holiday dinners.

Moreover the project of changes is to include such kind f social assistance as the free trips in public transport.

At the moment this kind of assistance is rendered to the participants and invalids and people equaled to them; pensioners, I and II group invalids and children-invalids under 18, pensioner of the force structures and mothers with many children.

In 2009 the volume of financing of this social assistance is 750 million tenge for 51 thousand people. 37.9 million tenge is foreseen for 3160 invalids of III group.
