OREANDA-NEWS. On 02 February 2009 was announced, that on January 26 Astana has seen the opening of a new school-lyceum #62 for 1200 pupils. It appeared on the basis of the oldest secondary school of the capital of Kazakhstan – school #11 that was built during WWII in 1943.  On Monday Astana city akim Imangali Tasmagambetov and Minister of education and science Zhanseit Tuymebaev took part in the opening ceremony of the new school-lyceum with the thorough study of chemical-biological and language disciplines.

“The head of the state does his best to make the schools of our city to correspond to the modern demands. Last year we opened several schools. This year we are also conducting the work that is given by the state. The main is that the schools are equipped the way the pupils can expand the boarders of their knowledge”. – Said I. Tasmagambetov.

He said that the greatness of any state is determined first of all by the level of education of the population. He also mentioned the contribution of the pedagogical staff of the school in formation of the modern Kazakh society.

“This school gave the way to life to many generations and it realy can be proud of its famous pupils. During several years the school is in the top-5 of the city best schools. I am sure the spacious rooms will give the possibility to the pupils to get wonderful knowledge.” – said Astana akim.

The Minister of Education Zh.Tuymebaev mentioned the successful realization of the program order of the President of Kazakhstan that is named “Hundred schools”.

“Last year there were commissioned 46 schools other schools are being built. This fact shows that the president pays much attention to the sphere of education. We correspond to these demands”. – Informed the Minister of education and science.

He also remarked that the care of the state about the quality and availability of education in Kazakhstan was recognized by the world community.

“Last week we received the official UNESCO approval that we are ranked first among 129 states according to the index of education development.”  - Remarked the minister.

The school has 32 study rooms, concert-hall, gym and dinning-room, library, choreography studio, etc.
