The first milestone of this project has been achieved already. Buses in Sochi and the region around Sochi were equipped with the M2M-Cyber GLX terminals, which acquire and process signals from the Russian GLONASS navigation system. Dispatcher`s control sites were arranged on the basis of the M2M-CityBus software.

Alexander Boreiko, M2M Telematica CEO, says that "satellite transport tracking system is introduced in Sochi in large scale. In addition, following the order of the Russian Federal Space Agency, M2M Telematica designs and develops Regional GLONASS Data Navigation Systems (RDNS) under the GLONASS Federal Special Program for Moscow region, Norilsk, Astrakhan region and North Ossetia".

The ATMD project implies RDNS development in Sochi in the framework of the second stage. RDNS in Sochi will serve to monitor all transport means. Moreover, RDNS commercial private application is under consideration. М2М-CityBus system in the city transport buses provides dispatchers with the opportunity to monitor bus schedule; drivers and passengers can estimate properly the time they need to get to the arrival location.

ATMD helps monitoring fuel consumption, traffic rules, utilization of the city transport. Furthermore, with the new system, local Sochi transport companies have achieved 30% profit increase.
