OREANDA-NEWS. February 2, 2009. SibCOTES and Mitsubishi Corporation recently held a scheduled progress meeting to update the construction of a 410 MW GTCC (Gas Turbine Combined Cycle) for the TGK-8 project within the expansion of the Krasnodarskaya CHP plant.

The project began in spring 2008 under the auspices of the E4 Group as the EPC Contractor for the project implementation. SibCOTES is the engineering General Designer, and Mitsubishi Corporation (Japan) supplies the М 701F4 gas turbine made by Mitsubishi Heavy Industries. The electric generator for the gas turbine is rated at a capacity of 303.9 MW and manufactured by Mitsubishi Electric Corporation.

SibCOTES senior engineers consulted with their colleagues from Mitsubishi to finalize the plant general arrangement and technical solutions for erection of the main building for the gas-turbine combined cycle plant. The schedules for providing the data needed for preparing the detailed documentation were also addressed. Critical issues related to the adaptation of equipment manufactured by Mitsubishi Corporation to comply with the Russian codes and requirements, as well as a range of technical measures to improve the reliability of MHI GT auxiliary systems were discussed as well.

The project for the construction of GTCC plant requires the application of advanced technology equipment from the leading world manufacturers to provide the best possible reliability and cost-efficiency, improved operation and environmental performance of the facility. To achieve this objective, the project has chosen to install a 140 MW steam cogeneration turbine manufactured in Russia by Urals Turbine Plant, an air-cooled generator manufactured by Elsib, and the HRSG supplied by EMAlliance.

The expansion of the Krasnodarskaya CHP plant was planned to meet the needs of the Krasnodarsky Krai in electricity and heat supply subject to expected economic growth in the region. It should also satisfy anticipated growth in the tourist business and preparation for the 2014 Winter Olympic Games. The addition of state-of-the-art GTCC equipment will significantly cut polluting emissions and increase the power plant output by 410 MW.
