OREANDA-NEWS. February 2, 2009. First deputy mayor Pyotr Biryukov; head of the Department of transport and communications of Moscow Leonid Lipsits and head of Moscow metro Dmitry Gaev visited the construction site of Arbatsko-Pokrovskaya line section between Strogino and Mitino.

LOVAT tunnel shield "Klavdia" has completed tunnel driving from Myakinino station to an intermediate dismantling chamber. Thus, the first tunnel (2200 m) between Strogino and Myakinino was completed and workers could begin laying tracks and installing equipment there.

The delegation also paid a visit to Volokolamskaya station which is being under construction now. It will be opened for passenger service together with Myakinino and Mitino stations at the end of 2009.

According to first deputy mayor Pyotr Biryukov, "This year, capital investment stays the same level as last year. It’s our challenge to keep it the same in 2010-2011. Moscow city government is not going to cut down on capital investment for the development of metro".
