President of association Zhelezobeton, first vice-president of RIA Andrey Ivanovich Zvezdov pointed out: “Holding such large-scale forums in exhibition centre Sokolniki has already become traditional. Science-technical public organization Association Zhelezobeton was officially registered in Department of Justice in 1993. However, it all began in 1957 when was founded USSR Academy of building and architecture. On the initiative of V.V.Michailov was created Commission of preliminary compressed ferroconcrete affiliated to the Academy. Commission bureau included renown scientists such as А.А.Gvozdev, К.S. Zavriev, V.M. Keldysh, K.V. Sahnovsky and others. Science-secretary was N.A. Markarov. Main goals of Association Zhelezobeton were: to unite efforts of its members ( producers of concrete- and concrete-materials, producers of carcasses and constructions, project organizations, concrete and ferroconcrete building and researching organizations) in order to increase volumes of producing and employment concrete and ferroconcrete in building, to improve quality, organization and development of production and service market.
