OREANDA-NEWS. On January 29, 2009 President Alexander Lukashenko met with Zenon Lomat, Chairman of the State Control Committee, to receive his report, reported the Official website http://president.gov.by.

Zenon Lomat reported on the results of the Committee’s work in the year 2008.

Last year, the number of audits reduced.

For example, in January this year 174 audit orders have been issued, which is a considerable reduction from 758 in January 2008.

The emphasis was made on carrying out comprehensive audits which could allow the inspectors to pinpoint serious violations of the legislation. The audits are carried out in strict conformity with Decree No 689 “On Some Measures to Improve the Control and Supervision Activities in the Republic of Belarus”.

The President reiterated his demand to check only the facts of violations according to the operational information.
