Naftogaz Chief Executive Made Statement
OREANDA-NEWS. On January 28, 2009 the Executive Committee of the NJSC Naftogaz of Ukraine held a sitting and considered an issue on the conclusion of long-term contracts between Naftogaz and Gazprom and other agreements (contracts) during the talks in Moscow, January 17-20, 2009.
The Company’s Executive Committee has taken a decision to approve the actions of Naftogaz Chief Executive Oleh Dubyna and First Deputy Executive Chief Ihor Didenko on signing the long-term contracts with the Gazprom Public Corporation of terms for gas transit through Ukraine to the European countries and supplies (purchase and sale) of natural gas to the consumers of Ukraine.
At the same time, the NJSC Naftogaz of Ukraine is amazed at interpretation of the concluded contracts of Russian gas supplies to Ukraine and Europe on the part of different officials and mass media.
Today, the whole world, not involved expert circles recognized that Ukraine due to clear common actions of the Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine and NJSC Naftogaz of Ukraine had overcome the conflict with dignity, protected the national interests, reassured the European Community and eliminated panic in the society on energy instability.
The Company is confident, the achieved agreements during the very difficult talks, undoubtedly, are favorable for Ukraine and is an optimal way out of long, artificially created confrontation resulted in essential worsening of tripartite relations between Ukraine-Russia-Europe.
The NJSC Naftogaz of Ukraine is surprised at the version that Companies leadership signed the above-mentioned documents under pressure. The Company stresses that all concluded agreements comply with the current legislation and inked, in accordance with the regulatory documents of the NJSC Naftogaz of Ukraine.
The NJSC Naftogaz of Ukraine reminds that Company’s actions are of administrative character and should not submit to the pressure on the part of different political forces.
