OREANDA-NEWS. On January 29, 2009 Prime Minister of Ukraine Yulia Tymoshenko has instructed the Finance Ministry along with Ministry of Economy and State Tax Administration till the next Government’s sitting to draft amendments to the legislation aiming at introducing tax privileges for, in particular, profits tax  and VAT for enterprises  which would implement the projects on energy saving.

Yulia Tymoshenko stated at a special Gov’t sitting concerning the issues on attracting investments. 

“The enterprises elaborating energy saving projects should be given preferential taxation at long date,” Yulia Tymoshenko stressed. She added that such enterprises can have preferential taxation for ten years. “National, energy and political security of the state, our political and energy independence – is a question of such scale, when we can give a tax privilege for 10 years under strict control,” the Prime Minister declared. “If we want to encourage entrepreneurs to invest money in it, to make it their priority, we have to give them tax privileges,” she added.

Yulia Tymoshenko assured that such tax privileges would not result in cutting down of the State Budget of Ukraine revenues.
