The chairwoman of the Saratov Regional Division of the Union of Journalists of Russia Lidia Zlatogorskaya said that the key mission of the press club was to involve more mass media in such discussions.

The guests met with their colleagues from Balakovo NPP (the plant has a primary organization of the Union of Journalists of Russia) and visited the exposition of the plant’s Public Information Center.

The leading specialists of Balakovo NPP answered the guests’ questions concerning the work of the plant. Particularly, the head of the Therapy Department of the Health Center of the Central Medical-Sanitary Unit #156 Irina Zmovik said that the plant had registered no single occupational disease caused by excessive radiation exposure.

“In order to bring his articles home to his readers a journalist must believe in what he writes. That’s why such meetings are very important for us,” Zlatogorskaya said in conclusion.
