OREANDA-NEWS. On 29 January 2009 OJSC “MegaFon”, the first all-Russian mobile operator, announced that Kai-Uwe Mehlhorn has been appointed the Chief Financial Officer of the Company.

Kai-Uwe Mehlhorn, who is a financial expert with a 20-year experience, replaced the former CFO Andis Locmelis, who left MegaFon in 2008 due to expiry of the contract term.

In 1985, Kai-Uwe Mehlhorn graduated from the University “Martin Luther” (Halle, Germany), and in 1992 – Department of International Business and Foreign Trade of Moscow State University of International Relations (MGIMO).

Before employment with MegaFon Mr. Mehlhorn worked as the Chief Financial Officer for TELE2 Russia in August 2007 – January 2008.

Earlier Mr. Mehlhorn had worked in different business units of Siemens for 15 years.

He started his work in Siemens AG in 1992 as Commercial Sales representative in Eastern Europe. In 1995-98 he continued working for the same company in Information and Communication Mobile (Munich, Germany) as Commercial Project Manager, Sales Asia (China, Vietnam, Taiwan and Thailand).

In January-August 1999, he worked as the Project Manager in Siemens Shanghai Mobile Communication Ltd. in China. In 1999 – 2002, Mr. Kai-Uwe Mehlhorn worked as the Head of Finance and Business Administration Department, Business Unit Mobile Radio in Siemens Information and Communication Network S.p.A (Italy). He was responsible for finance, controlling and management of factories, development and implementation of new technologies.

In September 2002, Mr. Kai-Uwe Mehlhorn was appointed the Vice President of Siemens Ltd. Information and Communication Mobile (Moscow, Russia) and the CFO of ICM. Since 2004, he became the Senior Vice President and CFO of Siemens Ltd. (Moscow, Russia).

Mr. Kai-Uwe Mehlhorn started his carrier in 1991 in Mannesmann Rexroth GmbH, where he provided commercial assistance to International sales

In MegaFon Kai-Uwe Mehlhorn has been working since January 20, 2009 as the Chief Financial Officer (CFO).
