OREANDA-NEWS. On January 26, 2009 The Federal Antimonopoly Service (FAS Russia) investigated the case on advertising the "ESRV-01" medical device by the "Radio Rossii [Radio Russia]" in July-December 2007, reported the press-centre of FAS Russia.

The advertisement stated that patients could use "ESRV-01" at their own discretion to treat illnesses without referring to a doctor. Furthermore, the commercial said that using the device would achieve positive effect - pain and symptoms of chronic inflammation would disappear, and prostate would become smaller. In the FAS Russia's opinion, it created a false impression that consumers did need to seek professional medical help.

The commercial violated Clauses 7 and 8 Part 1 Article 24 of the Federal Law "On Advertising". FAS Russia pronounced the advertisement of the "ESRV-01" medical device improper. The advertisers - "VGTRK" Federal State Unitary Enterprise and "Video International - Radio" - were issued determinations to stop violating the legislation on advertising.
