Russian State Sells Out of Arkhangelsk Port
OREANDA-NEWS. January 23, 2009.The Russian federal Property Authority (Rosimushchestvo) has laid 20 percent of its shares in the Arkhangelsk Commersial Port out for sale.
The auction will take place on January 30.
Arkhangelsk Port is a key port in the Russian North. The largest owner is mining and metallurgy giant Norilsk Nickel with 53 percent of the stocks.
In 2008 Arkhangelsk Commercial Port handled more than 1,7 million tons, nearly 20 percent more than in 2007. The largest growth was on the export side.
