OREANDA-NEWS. January 23, 2009.First Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Russian Federation Andrey Denisov arrived in Ashgabat.

The aim of the visit to discuss the aspects of further development of the bilateral relations between Turkmenistan and Russia

The Turkmen-Russian inter-MFA talks were held at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Turkmenistan in the afternoon. According to the Press Service of the MFA of Turkmenistan the sides exchanged views on the priority fields of Turkmen-Russian cooperation. The sides put emphasis on the preparations for the state visit of the President of Turkmenistan to the Russian Federation. The meeting focused on cooperation in the framework of the CIS. The sides appreciated the significance of the Council of the Foreign Ministers of the CIS which would be held in Ashgabat this year and the CIS Agricultural Forum this autumn.

The guest is planning to have a meeting at the Institute for Democracy and Human Rights under President of Turkmenistan.

President Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov is expected to receive First Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Russian Federation.
