Latvijas Krajbanka Supports Latvian Musicians Projects
OREANDA-NEWS. On January 21, 2009 Continuing supporting and furthering Latvian musical processes, Latvijas Krajbanka decided to provide financial aid for two Latvian musicians` projects in the first half of 2009, reported the press-centre of Latvijas Krajbanka.
Traditionally with support of Krajbanka the 13th Latvian Music Record Award ceremony will be held in February. The ceremony will take place on February 24th in the Latvian National Opera; the viewers of TV3 will be able to enjoy the ceremony throughout Latvia. The Bank is glad to note that this year the competition will be tough because of eminent and popular artists` records, which are nominated for the awards.
In respond to LTV offering to support the participation of Latvian musicians in the Eurovision Song contest, Latvijas Krajbanka decided to participate in the support of the project. Latvian musicians have to use all the possibilities to be on the international stage and to participate in the large musical events, thus promoting export of Latvian culture and popularizing Latvia.
It is especially important in today’s situation, when we have to specially mind development and availability of national economy, including cultural processes, providing special efforts and resources to ensure implementation of interesting and topical events. Broadcasts of the Eurovision Song contests have always attracted one of the biggest audiences, thus indicating on the great viewers` interest.
During last few years Latvijas Krajbanka has supported several important events of Latvian musical life. The Bank’s participation in the organization of Song and Dance Celebration in 2008 and Pupils` and Youth song and dance celebration can be considered the most significant. Traditionally the bank supported the Latvian Music Record Award ceremony, as well as helped to organize a song concert of Im.Kalnins in the Arena Riga and established a prize to present at the International Piano Festival in Liepaja.
The bank has also supported the release of the choir’s “Kamer...” record with the music of Raimonds Pauls, as well as the release of Latvian folk music record “Skaisti dziedi” and other projects.
