OREANDA-NEWS. January 22, 2009. The ceremony of awarding the winners of the best banks of Uzbekistan attracting the population’s deposits was held in Tashkent, reported the Official website www.gov.uz.

The annual contest was organized for the first time by the Central Ban and the Banks Association.

The National Bank of Uzbekistan has been named the best bank and was awarded with the President’s prize – Nexia car.

The winners of the best branch in the city and rural area – Ferghana regional branch of Asaka Bank and Chust branch of Pakhtabank (Namangan region) – received Damas cars.

Turon Bank won in the best deposit in national currency nomination for providing high-quality services to support young people.

Winners in a total of 7 general and 11 additional nominations were awarded.

According to the Central Bank, the volume of deposits of the population in the country’s commercial banks increased 1.7 times last year.
