OREANDA-NEWS. January 22, 2009. Bank Saint Petersburg has been certified to perform direct acquiring operations over payment system Visa and therefore it is in position to service retail and service outlets directly. Up to now the Bank used the intermediary services of one of the largest Russian banks.

In the spring 2008 the Bank got an acquiring license from the payment system Visa and therefore it is authorized to perform direct acquiring operations.

According to Pavel Filimonenok, Deputy Chairman of the Management Board, an adoption of a new system will make it possible to increase an income from Visa acquiring operations by RUR 10 million a year.

Bank Saint Petersburg is a Principal Member of the international payment systems Visa and Master Card. The number of cards issued by the Bank exceeds 800 000; the Bank set into service 1 500 POS-terminals at 900 retail and service outlets.
Recently one more high-profile event followed: in St. Petersburg the jubilee 400th ATM was put into service.
