OREANDA-NEWS. On 22 January 2009 was announced, that Syrets-Pecherks line of Kyiv metro has got the first domestically produced train manufactured by Krukovka Carriages (PFTS: KVBZ).

The new cars are equipped with forced ventilation, have better noise insulation, and they by 15% exceed the capacity of cars produced by other manufacturers currently operated by Kyiv metro.

Denis Bass, first deputy chair of Kyiv City Administration, said that in 2009 they plan to buy about 100 cars, while the local producers will have the advantage.

Krukovka Carriages is able to produce 50 metro cars a year. The cost of the train including 5 cars is almost UAH 21 mn.
