OREANDA-NEWS. January 20, 2009. Within one-two days the Government of Ukraine will announce precise price for the Russian gas. Prime Minister of Ukraine Yulia Tymoshenko told briefing after the signing ceremony of gas contracts between Ukraine and Russia.

Yulia Tymoshenko noted that Ukraine would set the average gas price for all consumers using Russian gas. “I want to have two days at least to calculate more exactly the average gas price, within one-two days we announce the price coming into force since January 1 for all consumers. The only thing I can tell, it will be much, much, much lower than calculations made by the Ukrainian mass media,” the Prime Minister of Ukraine said.

According to Yulia Tymoshenko, a formula by which the Russian gas price will be set for Ukraine and for its transit to the European countries have been long applied in the countries of Europe, it is universal and creates for Ukraine equal conditions as in other EU countries.

The Premier noted that a component of the formula is the price for black oil, gasol and gas price of the previous year.
