OREANDA-NEWS. January 20, 2009. Gas transport system of Ukraine stays in good condition and capable to perform its functions to transit the Russian natural gas to the member-states of the European Union in full. In such a way Ukrainian GTS was evaluated by Commissioner of Eurounion for Energy Andris Piebalgs during his meeting with Prime Minister of Ukraine Yulia Tymoshenko.

“I want to assure European gas consumers that Ukrainian gas transporting system stays in normal condition, in normal form and can transport gas to the European consumers without obstacles,” the Eurocommissioner declared.

At the same time Andris Piebalgs stressed to secure normal state of Ukrainian GTS it necessitates significant investments and funds.
