OREANDA-NEWS. January 19, 2009. In November 2008, the volume of transactions at the currency market of Moldova amounted to US859,1 million, decreasing by 23,3% in comparison with the last month.

As it was informed in NBM, transactions for purchasing major foreign currencies for leis made US423,2 million and sales- US 435,9 million, respectively.

As compared to the previous month, the volume of purchase for leis decreased by 18,4% and sales-by 27,5%. 56,2% of all transactions were registered with USD.

Share of transactions with euro made 39,1%, Russian ruble– 4,1 %, Ukrainian hryvna –0,3%, Romanian lei– 0,3%. In November, the share of turnover with euro increased by 4,1% points and reduced by 4,1 points with USD.
