OREANDA-NEWS. On 20 January 2009 was announced, that a couple years ago the Moscow City Government promised to develop office blocks for small businesses and this development is going on at full speed now, amid the global financial crisis.

“In particular, the first stage of development of an industrial park in Nagatino [neighbourhood of Moscow] has been already completed. The second stage is being currently implemented. The same objects are to be raised in the other areas of the city,” said Vladimir Resin, head of Integrated Body for Urban Design Policy and Development of Moscow.

According to the official, the crisis also urges the builders to develop the transport network of Moscow.

“2008 was the first time when 100 billion roubles (~USD 3 billion) were drawn for road construction in Moscow. It is three times more than in 2007. The scope of works is to be extended more in the current year. It is planned to complete the reconstruction of Varshavskoe Highway on the section from the MKAD to Shcherbinka [neighbourhood of Moscow], Krestovskie overpasses at Mira Avenue, Sovetskaya Street in Vnukovo zone and Panfilovsky Avenue in Zelenograd [just outside Moscow] during 2009,” the head of Integrated Body for Urban Design Policy and Development of Moscow specified.

Besides, construction and reconstruction of Zvenigorodsky Avenue, Leningradskoe Highway and a section of the fourth ring road from Shchyolkovskoe Highway to Entuziastov Highway are to go on in Moscow. A new road network in Severny township and the southern alternate to Kutuzovsky Avenue will start being developed in 2009.

“2.5 billion roubles (~USD 76.7 million) are to be allocated for making roads within Moscow less busy and building parking garages,” Mr Resin added.
