Trade Turnover between Ukraine and Poland Shows Record Growth
OREANDA-NEWS. On January 16, 2009 Vice Prime Minister for European and International Integration Hryhoriy Nemyria announced that trade turnover between Ukraine and Poland had grown more than 1.5fold or over 60% in 2008. He announced that during the roundtable to the topic the state and prospects of the development of bilateral trade turnover between Ukraine and Poland. “The year 2008 is a year of record growth of trade turnover between Ukraine and Poland,” Hryhoriy Nemyria stressed.
“Poland is the largest partner of Ukraine among the states of the Central and Eastern Europe. We are deeply satisfied that over the recent years we have experienced growth of not only the amount of enterprises with Polish capital in Ukraine, but observed increase of Ukraine’s capital into Poland,” Hryhoriy Nemyria explained.
The Vice Premier considers in the future Ukraine and Poland, in order to deepen trade and economic relations, should use “proximity of our states”. “It is not only the geographical proximity but the closeness from the point of view of common opinions on the situation in the world, in the region and on future prospects of development of our relations,” Hryhoriy Nemyria said.
Moreover, the Vice Prime Minister underlined the Government will continue creating favourable investment climate for Polish investors and encourage drawing foreign capital into Ukraine’s economy.
Hryhoriy Nemyria also stressed on the need to join efforts of Governments of Ukraine and Poland to minimize fallouts of the global financial crisis and to further broaden trade and economic cooperation between our states.
As reported earlier, today Vice Prime Minister for European and International Integration Hryhoriy Nemyria and Minister of Foreign Affairs of Poland Radoslaw Sikorski took part in a roundtable titled The state and prospects of the development of bilateral trade cooperation between Ukraine and Poland.
