OREANDA-NEWS. January 19, 2009. According to departmental State Statistical monitoring form (f.No 1-C) the reinsurance premium of OJSC Transsiberian Reinsurance Corporation for 2008 made up 1059.7mln rubles. The company collects more than 1 billion rubles of premium for already fifth year, which shows the stability of its portfolio.

Most of the incomings fall, as earlier, to property reinsurance – 80% (847.1mln rubles). The share of liability reinsurance amounts to 19% (201.6mln. rubles), reinsurance charges of personal insurance contracts makes up 1% (10.9mln rubles). According to preliminary data, for the year of 2008 Transsiberian Re concluded 3664 reinsurance contracts, which is practically the same amount as the year before.

Total amount of reinsurance indemnity payments of Transsiberian Re for 2008 made up 420.3mln rubles. 98.6% of them fall to property reinsurance, 1.3% - to liability reinsurance and the rest, 0.1% - to reinsurance of personal insurance contracts.

During 2008 Transsiberian Re made payments under 1258 insured events 1291 – in 2007). Last year pay-off ratio was at the level of 39.7% (22.1% - in 2007, 32.9% in 2006).

According to preliminary data, out of total amount of reinsurance premium collections in 2008, only 37.4% fell to Russian partners of Transsiberian Re. As earlier, most part of premium (62.6%) was collected from abroad. The share of foreign incomings in gross reinsurance is prevalent during the last years (60.1% - in 2007, 74.6% - in 2006, 67% - in 2005. The Corporation cooperated with 45 companies of the world.

After receipt of premium and loss bordereau for the fourth quarter of 2008 (such bordereau, received before 22 February 2009 will be related to financial results of the previous year) the data may change.
