OREANDA-NEWS. On January 16, 2009 On following commissions of the Naftogaz of Ukraine NJSC Gaz of Ukraine company has warned Kyivenergo about the start of procedure to cut gas delivery. During January of 2009 Kyivenergo has completely failed to pay for the consumed gas to the Gaz of Ukraine.

An announcement about the start of procedure was sent to the chief executive of the Kyivenergo, the head of Kyiv municipal state administration and Kyivgaz company.

A decision to reduce gas supplies was stipulated by a significant debt of Kyivenergo to the Gaz of Ukraine company (by 15.01.09 – over UAH 704.9.mn) as well as growing debt for the consumed natural gas by power engineers of the capital through 2008 - 2009.

Hence, within the whole 2008-2009 heating season Kyivenergo violates their contract liabilities with regards to complete payments for the consumed gaz on a systematic basis. From now on the Gaz of Ukraine company sees no legal grounds to hand the natural gas over to the Kyivenergo in full.

In order to avoid negative consequences in the process of providing Kyivans with heat energy the Gaz of Ukraine draws attention of leaders of Kyivenergo to the need to prepare equipment of the energy company for transition to reserve kinds of fuel.
