OREANDA-NEWS. January 16, 2009. The Education Computerization Department under the Ministry of Education of Azerbaijan is planning to finish creation of Information & Internet Centre for Schools in early spring.

The Ministry informs that centre opening is scheduled for March 2009.

“This centre will be established a network control centre. Besides, it will be created a base of electronic resources of education system. For connection to the resource centre schools will be provided with relevant equipment. Currently schools are being laid a fiber-optic cable to ensure high-speed Internet and video communication. In March it is planned to introduce I telephony service that will create an opportunity for schools’ video-communication with the Baku Main Education Department, the Ministry of Education and the Information & Internet Centre,” it was reported.

The Department expects to connect schools in regional centre of Azerbaijan to Internet in 2009.
