OREANDA-NEWS. On January 15, 2009 Prime Minister of Ukraine Yulia Tymoshenko commissioned the heads of regional state administrations along with Ministries of Fuel and Energy and of Housing and Communal Services to draft complex plans on transferring facility in electrogenerating and communal sectors from the use of natural gas to other kinds of energy carriers within two months.

The relevant commission Prime Minister of Ukraine Yulia Tymoshenko formulated at a meeting with governors and mayors of regional centers on issues of opposing the global financial crisis. Implementation of the mentioned Order is under control of head of the advisors’ group of the Prime Minister of Ukraine Vitalii Haiduk.

“This can be black oil, coal, electric energy. And moreover, pay attention to all waste products – biowaste, agricultural waste, other products of the industrial and production activity,” Yulia Tymoshenko noted. She added that as soon as the regions prepare relevant proposals, the Government begins to finance them.

Besides, the Head of Government concentrated attention on the necessity to produce its own natural gas, According to Yulia Tymoshenko, the Government is working at a complex plan to develop own natural gas fields, in particular, on the Black Sea shelf.

“We are going to do it in such way that Ukraine will, firstly, reduce gas consumption and, secondly, increase its own production. And we’ll build political independence, developing, first of all, energy independence,” the Head of Government said.
