Ukraine to Reduce Pressure on Private Entrepreneurs
OREANDA-NEWS. January 15, 2009. Putting in action a market tax will decrease tax load on private entrepreneurs. Deputy Head of State Tax Administration Serhii Lekar announced during the briefing at the Cabinet of Ministers.
Serhii Lekar reminded the Law of Ukraine “On local tax and dues” approved by the Verkhovna Rada in the first reading Ukraine will see shortening of 10 kinds of taxes, including the market due which is to be replaced with a market tax.
He explained the sum of market due was 20% from minimal salary or 40 UAH per day. “The Government has proposed today another position and significantly cut the upper limit making it at the level of 2.5% from the minimal salary which is maximally equals 15 UAH per trading day,” he stressed.
Also, according to the STA Deputy Head the rent for entrepreneurs trading on markets has been reduced. It means that instead of 0.25% from minimal salary per day which equals 1.50 UAH per 1 sq m a day, entrepreneurs shall pay only 0.03% from minimal salary which is 0.18 UAH per 1 sq m.
“In our opinion it will definitely decrease the pressure on a simple citizen working on the market and will manage local bodies to regulate in an proper way the price for providing respective services,” he stressed.
