OREANDA-NEWS. January 14, 2009. In December, external assets of the Bank of Lithuania increased by LTL 954.7 million to form LTL 15.6 billion at the end of the month, and external liabilities went up by LTL 31.8 million to LTL 131.6 million, reported the press-centre of Bank of Lithuania.

Currency in circulation increased by LTL 89.0 million to LTL 9.6 billion at the end of the month. Resident deposits with the Bank of Lithuania went up by LTL 829.1 million to LTL 4.4 billion, of which, deposits of other MFIs increased by LTL 978.0 million to LTL 3.1 billion at the end of December, while central government deposits went down by LTL 147.5 million to form LTL 1.3 billion at the end of the month.

Changes in the balance sheet items of the Bank of Lithuania have been disclosed taking into account transactions, i.e. by eliminating the effect of revaluation adjustments of prices and foreign exchange rates as well as other reclassifications.
