OREANDA-NEWS. On January 14, 2009 Prime Minister Yulia Tymoshenko informed at a press conference that all expenses envisaged for wages of employees of the budget sphere had been transferred to the local budgets, while 2008 budget had been overfulfilled despite the world financial crisis.

Also, according to her, on the outcomes of the year almost all the local budgets have been overfulfilled. “That’s why nowadays there are no grounds for arrears for the employees of the budget sphere,” the Head of Government accentuated.

The Prime Minister told if some mayors or certain local heads afford such debts, it proves only that instead of target financing of salary funds from the local budgets they used them to achieve some personal goals.

The Head of Government reminded about petitions of citizens of Bryank town of Luhansk region televised (concerning arrears of salaries for the budget employees) and addressed the Regions Party which, according to her, is fully accountable for the situation as all leaders of local authorities in this town are members of the mentioned party.

Yulia Tymoshenko announced on emerging such signals the Government would appeal the General Prosecutor’s. “We will join efforts of the Government with General Prosecutor’s Office and seek to analyze every fact where funds for salaries of employees of the budget institutions, such as doctors, teachers, were detained”.

The PM also informed about the facts of violations with payments of wages by Kyiv Mayor Leonid Chernovetsky, revealed by the General Prosecutor. Money, as she put it, were used not on purpose but for pre-term elections instead. “But, unfortunately, proceedings on this fact weren’t instituted, as such facts are roofed by coersive structures nowadays,” the Premier said.
