OREANDA-NEWS. January 14, 2009. In 2008 Kursk NPP generated 23.226bln KWh against planned 22.744bln KWh (102.1% of the plan).

In 2008 the plant fulfilled 103% of the annual electricity supply plan.

The capacity factor was 66.1% against planned 64.73%. The consumers were supplied with 541,800 Gcal, which is more than planned for the period.
Since its launch in 1976 Kursk NPP has generated 634.890bln KWh.
In 2008 the plant modernized its 3rd and 4th units. Presently, the 1st,  2nd and 3rd units are operation. The 4th unit has been under maintenance since Oct 1 2008.

The radiation background at Kursk NPP and in its nearby area is within norm.
