OREANDA-NEWS. January 13, 2009. Growing tariffs for delivery of national periodicals haven’t affected subscription campaign of 2009. Subscription to the periodicals has been completed without any problems while subscription copies for 2009 have grown by 5.4%. General Director of Ukrpost Taisiya Zamkova informed.

According to the general director of Ukrpost, at the account of raising tariffs for delivery of periodicals by 27% the Ukrpost obtained UAH 77 million in profits. This enabled improvement of wages for the employees and providing mailmen with bicycles.

“An average salary of the Ukrpost employees for 2008 has totaled 1039.8 UAH, being 620 UAH in 2007,” Taisiya Zamkova said.

Now on the market of delivery of periodicals on the territory of Ukraine, besides state enterprises like the Ukrpost and the Press, 135 alternative organizations are functioning. At this, subscription prices by the Ukrpost as compared to the other players are almost nine-fold lower, which is acknowledged by auditors’ conclusion of Main Control and Revision Office of Ukraine.
