Possible Reduced Gas Supplies not to Effect Vostokenergo’s Operation
OREANDA-NEWS. January 13, 2009. Natalia Stryapan, the Press Secretary of Vostokenergo generation company, informed Interfax-Ukraine Agency that the possible reduction of natural gas supplies to thermal power plants of Vostokenergo (Donetsk) will not effect the operation of the generation company.
Natalia Stryapan stressed that the gas share in the TPP’s general fuel consumption structure is 1%.
‘Our TPPs use only 1% of gas in the general fuel consumption structure. Gas consumption is minimal, that is why this issue is not so important for us’ said N. Straypan.
Vostokenergo is the only private thermal power generation company in Ukraine. The company is incorporated into Donbass Fuel-Energy Company (DTEK, Donetsk) established in 2005 to manage SCM Group’s energy assets.
Vostokenergo operates 17 coal-fired units at Zuyevskaya, Kurakhovskaya and Luganskaya TPPs with total installed capacity of 4085 МW.
