Southeast Moscow Boosts Housing Development
OREANDA-NEWS. On 13 January 2009 was announced, that over 700,000 square metres of housing are to be erected in southeast Moscow in 2009 that is three times more than in 2008.
“The volume of housing to be commissioned within southeast Moscow in 2009 will be increased three times compared to 2008 and will work out at 736,000 sq m,” Vladimir Zotov, prefect of the southeastern administrative district of Moscow, said.
The official specified that 205,000 sq m of housing were built in the district in 2008.
According to him, it is planned to develop 572,000 sq m of social housing, the rest of the housing to be built in the district will be developed due to investment contracts containing no share of the city.
“The basic building plots will be located in Vykhino-Zhulebino, Kuzminki, Nekrasovka and Lyublino townships,” Mr Zotov noted.
It is also planned to erect 11 kindergartens, 2 schools, 2 hotels and a clinic in southeast Moscow. The construction of garages with the total capacity of 11,000 parking places is stipulated by the program aimed at developing garages. Besides, 42,600 sq m of houses under threat of collapse and dilapidated residential buildings are to be demolished in the district this year.
The prefect added that Svoboda cinema and Astakhov’s House of Culture were scheduled to undergo reconstruction from 2009 to 2010.
