OREANDA-NEWS. January 12, 2009. Toshshahartranshizmat (Tashkent city transport service) plans to introduce electronic travel payment system in public transports, reported the Official website www.investuzbekistan.uz.

The system plans to introduce electronic tickets based on non-invasive smart cards with high level of data protection.

It is expected that the system will allow transport companies to be flexible in introduction of tariffs. Electronic tickets can be used in various transport types, underground, buses, etc).

Electronic tickets will be introduced as Tashkent underground as pilot project. Toshshahartranshiznat and Uzinvestproyekt are making market research on introduction of electronic tickets on international experience.
