Belarus to Develop Country Marketing
OREANDA-NEWS. January 11, 2009. The plan of actions to develop the country marketing is being developed in Belarus now. Following Prime Minister’s instruction an interdepartmental working group has been set up to develop the plan, reported the Official website www.government.by.
Deputy Foreign Minister of Belarus Andrei Yevdochenko has been appointed head of the interdepartmental working group. The group also includes representatives of the Economy Ministry, the Finance Ministry, the Industry Ministry, the Ministry of Sport and Tourism, a number of concerns and also heads of private companies including strategic development centre “Marketing Systems”, “Novak” and national public organization “Analytic Centre “Strategy”.
In line with the instruction, the working group is set to develop the draft plan of actions to develop the country marketing of Belarus by February 1, 2009. The document is expected to contain the proposals concerning the cooperation with strategic foreign investors taking into account the development of industrial branches and regions. The plan should also contain the measures aimed at increasing the awareness of foreign investors about the investment opportunities of the country. The information will be provided via mass media, television, internet and international forums. The plan of actions will be introduced before the Council of Ministers to be approved.
The country marketing concept was proposed to be created for the first time during a session of the Foreign Investments Advisory Council in May 2008. According to experts, the country rating is a good PR for the country. The concept will help the country to develop and improve the investment climate.
