OREANDA-NEWS. December 29, 2008. The Director of Department for Climate Change, Cooperation and International Affairs of the Dutch investment and innovation agency SenterNovem Mr. Hoop van Mille during a meeting with representatives of the NAER who stayed with a working visit in the Kingdom of Netherlands stressed on strategic significance of cooperation between the Kingdom of Netherlands and Ukraine with an aim to create sustainable energy market and market of “green” energy as well as apply alternative and renewable energy sources and energy saving measures.

The head of Ukrainian delegation, deputy head of NAER Vitaliy Hryhorovskyi stressed that necessary condition for cooperation proves joining efforts in various directions of development of biomass applying as priorities of the Kingdom of Netherlands and Ukraine vary in terms of structure of fuel and energy balances.

Within the frames of the visit the NAER specialists got familiarized with Dutch methods of obtaining, preparing and processing of statistical data. Productive was acquaintance with activity of Technological Scientific Research Institute of the Kingdom of Netherlands in Apeldoorn which deals with scientific solutions, ordered by the Government of Netherlands in multiple spheres of public life (automobile building, chemistry, defence, food industry, energy etc.).

Representatives of the institute have demonstrated three processing systems to receive liquid hydrocarbon from dry, damp and liquid biomass. Solutions of the mentioned institute are directed to produce biodiesel fuel and bioethanol. 

A peculiar attention in the program of stay of Ukrainian delegation in the Netherlands was paid to studying the experience in the area of alternative and renewable energy, in particular biological kinds of fuel. With this aim a visit to a firm which deals with growing of microalgae in Zeewolde was organized. The NAER delegation got familiarized with production made from micro algae.

In general, in the course of the meetings a series of other issues was embraced such as energy effectiveness in building; renovation of buildings; financial mechanisms of financing of energy effective projects.

So, Ukrainian specialists have gained on the hospitable Dutch land a lot of expressions, experience and hopes for fruitful prospect of development of partnership in the sphere of energy effectiveness and energy saving.

It should be noted the total budget of programs of energy effectiveness in the Kingdom of Netherlands amounts Eur 700 mn annually.
