FAS Warned Oil Companies on Unacceptable Prices
OREANDA-NEWS. December 29, 2008. Igor Artemyev, the Head of the Federal Antimonopoly Service (FAS Russia), warned the oil companies that maintaining prices at the current level is unacceptable, reported the press-centre of FAS Russia.
"If in the near future the oil companies do not cut prices for oil products following the world trend, we will be forced to open new proceedings for abusing dominant position. In this case "turnover" fines imposed upon the companies will be much higher because we will treat the companies and their executives as habitual violators", - stated the Head of FAS Russia.
According to FAS Russia's price monitoring, petrol in Khabarovsk, Vladivostok, Irkutsk, Murmansk, Blagoveschensk and other cities costs 1 Ruble higher than on average in Russia. For example, the average price of AI92 petrol in Russia at the end of December is 21.67 Rubles, while in Khabarovsk it is 25.30 Rubles and in Irkutsk - 24.80 Rubles.
The average price of diesel fuel in Russia reaches 22.64 Rubles, while in Murmansk the price stays at the level of 26.35 Rubles, in Khabarovsk - 25.30 Rubles, Irkutsk - 27 Rubles, Chita - 29 Rubles. The average price of AI76 petrol in Russia is 18.89 Rubles, while in Irkutsk it is в 22.30 Rubles, in Khabarovsk - 21.9 Rubles, Murmansk - 23.2 Rubles, Chita - 24 Rubles.
