Satellite Monitoring and Transport Control Center Opened in Barnaul
OREANDA-NEWS. December 29, 2008. Regional Dispatcher Satellite Monitoring and Transport Control Center (RDC) "M2M Telematica - Altai" was opened in Barnaul. This is the first partner of M2M Telematica in Altai region.
Seminar "Utilization of the satellite navigation for stable socio-economical development of the region" took place to support to RDC opening. The seminar was attended by 30 representatives of the regional and republican authorities and companies.
M2M Telematica experts, together with the regional partner, informed the attendees about the status and prospectives of the Russian GLONASS` evolution, and made presentations on the advantages provided by the navigation technologies for the executive and local authorities, and business, and answered the questions regarding introduction of the transport monitoring systems. BN-City® system was demonstrated; an exhibition stand demonstrated user equipment and CyberFleet® SW. Administration of the city was interested mostly to introduce transport control and monitoring systems in the municipal transport fleets, medical emergency service cars and in police squads.
Medical emergency station has become the first user of the BN-City® system in Barnaul. Call response and transportation time were reduced due to the capabilities of the new system. In addition, less funding is required since current expences are less. Social effect is achieved as well, quality of the medical services for the people increases, transportation is more safe. This means that routing, speed limits and driver resting schedule are obeyed; prompt response to the calls from the citizens is maintained.
