OREANDA-NEWS. December 26, 2008.  The working group for coordination of efforts to ensure the safe development of power engineering in Murmansk region held a guest meeting at Kola Nuclear Power Plant on Dec 23 2008. The meeting was chaired by the minister of industry, transport and energy of Murmansk region Sergey Leus. Representatives of the government of Murmansk region, local authorities, managers of energy companies and other organizations of Murmansk region attended the meeting.

They reported to the members of the group on the implementation of investment projects in the region, specified the causes of delays and outlined the prospects for 2009.

The specialists of Kola NPP showed special interests in the prospects of energy supply of Shtokmanovsky gas condensate deposit. All facilities of the deposit will need as much 1,800MW.

The government of Murmansk region will meet in Jan 2009 to discuss with specialists of Kola NPP, power networks and gas companies the problem of energy supply of Shtokmanovsky deposit.
