OREANDA-NEWS. December 26, 2008.  In the nearest future Russian GLONASS system will be able to provide continuous navigation signal for the territory of Russia. It will support positioning for marine, air, ground vehicles, as well as people, with the accuracy up to 1 m.

Sergey Ivanov reported Vladimir Putin, Chairman of the Government of the Russian Federation, about the progress in the GLONASS program.

The Chairman of the Russian Government noted that the program planned for this year is accomplished completely.

Sergey Ivanov, Deputy Chairman of the Russian Government: "Personally, I think that there are no more problems with the GLONASS space segment. Within next two years we have pay more attention to the ground part of this space system".

Vladimir Putin, Russian Prime-Minister: "GLONASS is the most important component of the space program of the Russian Federation. We`ve been always proud of it. And it is very pleasant to see that at the final stage of year 2008 Russian space industry demonstrates good results and rates".
