Eurasian Bank Redeems USD110 mln Syndicated Loan
OREANDA-NEWS. On December 22, 2008 Eurasian Bank (Almaty), bonds of which are traded in the official list of Kazakhstan Stock Exchange (KASE), provided KASE with a press release, reported the press-centre of KASE:
Eurasian Bank paid the second (final) tranche of the syndicated loan borrowed December 20, 2006.
The size of the syndicated loan is USD110 m.; the size of the second tranche (for two years) is USD40 m. The first tranche (for 370 days) of USD70 m. was succefully paid back in December 2007.
The leading organizers of the deal are Deutsche Bank AG, London Branch (London, Great Britain) and Raiffeisen Zentralbank Osterreich AG (Vienna, Austria).
"The tranche redeemed today is the last large payment on foreign obligations of Eurasian Bank. At the time being Eurasian bank is one of the few national leading financial institutions having little foreing debt in liability structure. With high volatility on international financial markets we consider this circumstance a big competitive advantage showing stability of current bank funding base", - said Chairman of Board of Eurasian Bank Zhomart Ertaev.
Eurasian Bank leaves open the possibility to enter foreign markets in future as market conditions become more favorable.
