OREANDA-NEWS. December 25, 2008.  North-Western Bureau branch of OJSC Transsiberian Reinsurance Corporation paid Saint Petersburg Insurance Company Pomosch 3.9mln rubles of reinsurance indemnity in connection with damage of the cargo. The payment is made under facultative cargo reinsurance contract.

The insured event took place on 31 August 2005. The accident with cargo carrier resulted in serious mechanical damage of the cargo – beet harvester, produced by German company Ekosem Agrar GmbH

Such long term process of loss settlement is explained by the court proceedings over the admittance by the insurance company of the accident as ensured event. The total sum insured exceeded 6.343mln rubles. The reinsurance indemnity of Transsiberian Re’s share made up 3.891mln rubles.
