Kazakhstan Reported on January-November Economy Performance
OREANDA-NEWS. December 23, 2008. Industrial production output for Jan-Nov 2008 made up KZT 9635 billion, 2.6% up y-o-y. Y-o-y growth in mining industries totaled 5.1%, while in production and distribution of electric power, gas and water the figure stood at 7.6%, reported the Official website http://en.government.kz.
Freights traffic for the period under review grew 6.6% y-o-y to make up 338842.1 million tonne-kilometres.
Retail turnover for the period totaled KZT 2255.3 billion, 3.3% up y-o-y.
Capital investments made up KZT 3299.2 billion, 6.1% up y-o-y.
As of December 1, 2008, there are 282757 legal entities officially registered, with 193234 of them being actually operating. 178944 of them are S&MBs.
Foreign trade turnover for Jan-Oct 2008 totaled USD 93679.5 million, 44.7% up y-o-y, with exports making up USD 62374.2 million (64.6% up) and imports accounting for USD 31305.3 million (16.7% up).
State budget revenues as of November 1, 2008, totaled KZT 2846.8 billion (24.2% up y-o-y), with expenses making up KZT 2737.8 billion (28.0% up).
According to the National Bank, as of the end of October, banks’ loans to the economy totaled KZT 7286.1 billion, with the share of long-term loans making up 80.1%. Deposits with the banking system as of the end of October totaled KZT 4869.1 billion (34.2% up y-o-y).
